Size limit of Outlook PST files in Outlook 2003 or older
Posted by Daniel Weuthen on 15 May 2013 08:33

Problem: When attaching the archive to Outlook 2003 or older via IMAP, issues occur due to the 2GB size limit of non-unicode PST files. The technical background is explained in Microsoft's Technet article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830336 .

Solution: Unfortunately there is to method available to bypass the 2GB limit in Outlook 2003 or older. A possible workaround could be to reconfigure Outlook to synchronize the email headers only. Though having the whole archive available offline is no longer possible.
