The search for a specific email domain does not return any results
Posted by on 6 May 2024 11:34

Problem: Searching MailStore Client or MailStore Web Access for mydomain.com or @mydomain.com does not return any results although emails have been received from that domain.

Solution: The MailStore search only returns results when searching for complete words. Because an email domain is considered to be a partial word, placeholders such as the asterisk symbol have to be used. MailStore's search engine uses such placeholders to search for specific substrings. For example, @mydomain.com can be used to retrieve all emails of a domain without having to filter a specific top level domain.

In the example above, searching for *mydomain.com or *@mydomain.com will return the expected results.

Additional information about the MailStore search is available in the MailStore manual.
