Mapping archives to new user names
Posted by Björn Meyn on 14 May 2019 18:14

The following describes the mapping of MailStore Server archives to new users. This may be necessary due to moving MailStore Server to a new Active Directory domain, changing the directory service which MailStore Server synchronizes with or changing the primary email domain.

The principle steps are as follows:

  1. Delete all obsolete users in MailStore Server. Their archive folders remain untouched by this.
  2. Rename the archive folders following the new name schema. You can also do this by script.
  3. If you have changed your directory service, adapt MailStore Server's synchronization configuration to the new directory service and synchronize again.
  4. The archive folders that have been renamed before will be mapped to the users with the same name automatically.
