The Outlook Add-In throws the error CONTROL_NOT_FOUND

Problem: The MailStore Outlook Add-In throws the error CONTROL_NOT_FOUND.

1: This problem may occur, when you are still using a MailStore Server version < 8 and Outlook 2013.

Solution: Upgrade to MailStore Server 8 or later.

2: This problem also may occur, when the Add-In is not able to connect itself to the "Web"-toolbar.

Solution: Open Outlook and activate the "Web"-toolbar. Additionally reset the toolbar settings by rightclicking on an empty space between the visible toolbars, then "Cusotmize the ribbon" -> Customizations -> Reset. Then restart Outlook.

When this does not resolve the problem, close Outlook, delete or move the file outcmd.dat. This file contains the toolbar configuration, therefore your settings also will be reset after this step.

Location of outcmd.dat:

  • Windows XP 
    C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\

Afterwards restart Outlook.
